Sansevieria - Snake Plant
Sansevieria, commonly and endearingly known as the snake plant or mother-in-law’s tongue, is an exceptionally resilient and low-maintenance houseplant that thrives remarkably well on minimal care.
To ensure its continued health and vitality, place it in a position with bright, indirect sunlight, as it is quite adaptable and can tolerate both low-light conditions and brighter settings; however, be mindful that too much direct sunlight may scorch its delicate leaves.
Water this hardy plant sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings, as overwatering can unfortunately lead to root rot, which is detrimental to its growth.
A well-draining potting mix is essential for success, ideally one formulated specifically for succulents or cacti to ensure proper drainage.
During the growing season, fertilise lightly with a balanced fertiliser to support its growth, but avoid feeding it during the dormant winter months when it requires less nutrients.
Regularly wipe down the leaves to remove any dust accumulation and enhance its natural sheen, ensuring your sansevieria remains a striking and elegant feature in any interior space.
